Violence against women

This is a compilation of selected case studies shared in the Regional Workshop on Violence Against Women held in Karachi in November 1997, organized jointly by Aurat Foundation, Karachi, and The Asia Foundation. The stories of gross violations of human rights and sexual abuse of women, presented in specific socio-cultural context, reflect the extent and the magnitude of violence against women in Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.

The case studies include accounts of concerted efforts by women's groups in the three South Asian countries to fight violence against women and provide support to the victims.
